Our Therapeutic Philosophy
Our approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and cultural humility. We strive to create a safe, supportive, and identity-affirming environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether navigating trauma, life transitions, or relationship challenges, we walk alongside our clients as they explore their inner world and develop the skills and tools they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
Working with Families:
At Tikvah Counseling & Coaching Services, we believe that families are living, evolving systems—each with their own rhythms, stories, and strengths. Our work with families is grounded in deep listening, cultural humility, and a commitment to helping each member feel seen and heard. Whether navigating conflict, transition, or healing from generational patterns, we support families in building communication, trust, and resilience. Together, we uncover what's working, identify what’s not, and co-create strategies that honor the family’s values while fostering growth and connection.
Couples & Relationship WOrk
We support couples and intimate partnerships through a wide range of challenges, including communication breakdowns, infidelity, intimacy concerns, and the stress of major life changes. We also work with non-monogamous relationships and LGBTQIA+ couples navigating unique relational dynamics. Whether you’re trying to repair after a rupture or deepen an already strong bond, we help partners develop greater understanding, trust, and connection.
“Tikvah means hope. We believe hope is not wishful thinking—it's the quiet courage to believe that change is possible.”
— Talia M. Gonsalves
Individual Therapy:
We work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, low self-worth, and burnout. Whether you’re dealing with long-standing patterns or facing new challenges, we help you gain clarity, build coping tools, and reconnect with your sense of self. Many of our clients are also working through identity-related concerns, such as navigating the impacts of racial trauma, intergenerational pain, or marginalization related to gender, sexuality, or disability. This work is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your lived experience.
Life Coaching:
Our life coaching services can help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Our experienced coaches provide guidance, support, and motivation to help you identify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve success in all areas of your life.
Family & Conflict Resolution:
Families are living systems, and sometimes those systems hit roadblocks. We help families navigate conflict, estrangement, mental health concerns within the family, and changes like divorce, grief, or caregiving transitions. Our goal is to help family members better understand each other, rebuild trust, and create healthier ways of relating—especially when cultural values, identity differences, or generational wounds are involved.
Support for Life Transitions:
Change—even positive change—can be overwhelming. We work with clients adjusting to divorce, the loss of a loved one, career shifts, becoming a parent, aging, or reentering the world after a difficult season. Our space is one where grief, growth, and uncertainty are all welcome. You don’t have to navigate these transitions alone.
